Under the general supervision of the Manager of Linehaul Planning, manages the analytics and tools
associated with network design and optimization of the Saia Linehaul network. This position works 
with both internal and external resources in order to help provide efficiency improvements in 
network design and system form.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Linehaul and Engineering organizations to increase overall efficiency and flexibility in the Saia Linehaul network.
• Performs data analyses in support of continuous improvement in cost KPI and service performance.
• Creates, measures, and executes against KPIs that help determine success in both planning and execution.
• Identifies, designs, and develops scenario based solutions for performance improvement opportunities.
• Analyzes current purchase transportation design to determine optimal mix of internal and external operations.
• Provides scenario based guidance to help dictate the vision for new terminals, hub locations, service standards, and legacy terminal needs.
• Provides education and process alignment across the operations, sales, marketing, and finance organizations.
• Maintains tool ownership of optimization software and systems.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Engineering, Applied Math or related
• 2+ years of Transportation or professional experience
• High level analytical skills with past experience in network design
• Advanced analytical background
• Previous exposure to optimization, simulation, and forecasting
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with project management tools (Smartsheet or Project)
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to work with internal and external resources
