Logistics Sales Executive

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as Saia’s product expert for all specialty products and LinkEx Core Competencies.
  • Manages and grows revenue from both new and existing customers.
  • Identifies new accounts and generates strategies to develop revenue.
  • Identifies situations requiring effective negotiations and maintains positive client relationships.
  • Plans for and makes joint calls with Saia’s National Account team as well as field sales as Saia’s specialty market product and LinkEx expert.
  • Supports our service partners as needed to secure new business to or from our specialty markets.
  • Develops reputation as a credible, knowledgeable, and sincere sales resource.
  • Leads effective negotiations by identifying the options, interests, criteria and alternatives of each party.
  • Develops and maintains vertical and horizontal relationships with customers and prospects through email, phone, and face to face contact.
  • Exceeds assigned territory quota for revenue, shipment count and profit growth.
  • Interacts with top level executives internally and externally.
  • Interacts with Field and National Sales teams as well as other departments including LH, Operations, Pricing, etc.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of customer information and sales activity.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of LTL sales experience
  • Strong understanding of the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) industry
  • Experience selling in each of the LTL market segments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM and Tableau
  • Ability to effectively present to both internal and external groups
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Approximately 60% travel is required
